¿Existe una verdadera consciencia ambiental consumista? ¿Qué efectos tiene la "caridad" o el asistencialismo en los procesos de desarrollo? Interesantes aportes del filósofo Slavoj Zizek al respecto (video animado en inglés)

  1. "the horizon of our imagination is capitalism"

The fist video of this blog, witch attacks Ollanta using first of may as an escuse, is strongly contrasting with this one.

You present this one as a video on charity sens and ecology conscience in consumers' mind... Have you only seen this side of the talk ?
What I see here is first of all a really anti-capitalism thesis.

    Well i like both videos.
Good luck for your blog !

Of course I haven't seen just one side of the message. I think we shouldn't mess things up. Liberalism does not mean capitalism. There are several differences between both concepts. I'm considering a post on that issue any time soon.

But for now, I would like to emphasize that the final objective of capitalism is to maximize capital and the final objective of liberalism is to maximize liberties. If you read my post on the notion of progress you will see that I'm against the consumerist society.
Nevertheless, employment remains a keystone for any development initiative. The sense of what we produce and why we produce it is what we have to review, but the productive act in itself contains the labor part that is essential to our society’s development.

Hence we shouldn't build barriers to production; we must merely re-orientate the sense of that production with a social focus. I think both videos are complementary and the idea of this blog is to elaborate different perspectives around the “traditional” concept of development.

Thank you very much for your comment and for your good wills!
